Developed for the demanding needs of the ferrous and non-ferrous metals industry, Superior Graphite consistently produces Desulco®, a premium graphitic carbon raiser with high carbon purity levels utilizing proprietary Electro-Thermal Treatment/Purification Technology. Desulco® recarburiser contains no dust, low ash and sulfur, and consistently low gas levels. The result is rapid dissolution, maximum carbon recovery, and minimal additions to the melt, saving time and money. Desulco® is the most cost-effective carbon raiser additive available. When looking for quality and cost-effectiveness in a carbon raiser, Desulco® recarburiser is the superior solution.
Steel Production: Desulco® recarburiser is used to increase the carbon content for the production of high carbon steels such as steel cord tire wire, heavy plate, rail, bearing steel, special billet qualities, as well as a final trim addition for low and medium carbon steels at the ladle metallurgy furnace.
Ferrous Foundries: Desulco® carbon raiser is used as a charge carbon and trim additive for the production of gray and ductile iron, along with pretreatment of ductile iron, and to reduce chill depth in gray cast iron.
Melt Cover: DesulcoMC® is successfully used as melt cover for pure copper, brass, bronze, or other copper alloys to prevent oxidation of the melt and deter
the formation of oxide slag. DesulcoMC® has a graphitic crystalline structure and therefore does not oxidize as readily as coke and charcoal, resulting in lower consumption of the melt cover material. DesulcoMC® is also chemically inert and does not react with copper and its alloys.
Benefits of Desulco®: Carbon Raiser | Recarburiser
DesulcoMC® is effectively used as a melt cover for pure copper, brass, bronze, or other copper alloys to prevent oxidation and deter oxide slag formation. With a graphitic crystalline structure, DesulcoMC® does not oxidize as readily as coke and charcoal, resulting in lower consumption of the melt cover material. Additionally, DesulcoMC® is chemically inert, ensuring it does not react with copper and its alloys.
A coarse graphitized desulfurized petroleum coke. Main uses are for basic recarburisation in the cold charge for ductile and grey iron foundries.

Download brochureGreen petroleum coke has several applications, especially in primary industries, and is part of industrial processes that result in products used in our daily lives.
Green coke is obtained from the cracking of residual fractions of the petroleum distillation process, is rich in carbon (80% to 95%), has a high energy factor, and is solid, black, and shiny.
Green petroleum coke can be used in several processes, in natura or after being industrialized, generating new products of high purity and high added value.
The petroleum refining process undergoes two stages: atmospheric distillation and vacuum distillation. The fuel oil obtained from vacuum distillation originates the green petroleum coke, also known as petcoke.
The petcoke market is very diversified and requires technical knowledge mastered by Grupo Unimetal.
More than a supplier of raw materials, Grupo Unimetal is also responsible for the production of knowledge and technical support, which proves its commitment to supplying not only carbonaceous products but also providing quality market solutions.
